Andrew Kanias, Senior Instructor of Kansei Karate School (formely Wales Karate Kan), has practised Shotokan Karate for twenty-three years. For the best part of sixteen years, he has been instructing children and adults alike and is a Level II Coach as certified by the Welsh Karate Governing Body.

Sensei Andrew is still a very active member of tournament Karate and, in 2006 alone, medalled in twelve tournament Kata events out of fifteen entered including Gold at the Welsh Championships, Gold at the North Wales Open Karate Championships, Bronze at the Scottish International Open Championships and Silver at the British Karate Championships.

  

  

Kansei Karate School aim to bring the best out of students and help them to achieve their aspirations, whether interested in only traditional karate training, tournament sport karate or to get fitter.

All Instructors are Enhanced Level CRB checked, Indemnity Insured, Qualified and First Aid trained.

Kansei Karate School practice and grade students in the Shotokan discipline of Karate. The main emphasis is on Traditional Karate but every student has the opportunity to compete in Open National and International Tournaments should they desire and/or show promise in any particular Sport Karate discipline (Kata and/or Kumite (see Karate). From September 2009, Kansei Karate School will be affiliated to an association who are members of the Welsh Karate Governing Body.   

Sensei Andrew would like to thank Chief Instructor of England Karate Kan, Sensei Enzo Quirino, for his help and support over the past three years and even though our affiliation with EKK will end, Kansei Karate School will continue to hold special courses with our friends.
